Dear Potential Friend,

If you’re reading this, it means you are considering making the biggest sacrifice of love for your child by looking for an adoptive family. We don’t know the circumstance which brought you here, but we do know it was probably a painfully difficult decision, regardless. Equally as difficult is the task you are currently undertaking; finding just the right loving family for your sweet child.

This must be a daunting task. You have many wonderful families to choose from that will give your child all the love in the world, just as we would. So, instead of describing to you at great length how much joy and happiness it would bring to us to welcome your child into our hearts and family, we will keep it brief. Your child will be our number one priority and the greatest gift we ever will have the honor of receiving.

With love and appreciation,

Edward & Katherine

FAQ’s about placing a baby for Adoption

I'm considering giving my baby up for adoption. How much does that cost?

It won't cost you anything. If you choose to place your baby for adoption, all of your medical and legal fees will be covered and you may be eligible for financial assistance with other pregnancy-related expenses.

I'm experiencing an unplanned pregnancy and don't know who the birth father is. Can I still place my baby for adoption?

Yes. Even if you don’t know the identity of the birth father, you can still choose to make an adoption plan. However, every adoption situation is different. The adoption social worker you’re assigned to will get to know you and your story first, and then guide you through the process accordingly.

When is the right time to talk with an adoption professional?

You can make an adoption plan at any point in your pregnancy, even after the baby has been born. But, it's important to start the process as early in your pregnancy as possible. Connecting with those resources will allow you to gain access to important medical services, including prenatal care, to help ensure a healthy pregnancy.

When I create an adoption plan, will I get to choose who is in the room with me during delivery?

One aspect of your adoption plan is the "Hospital Plan" an outline of how you'd like your hospital stay and delivery to go. You can craft this on your own or with the help of your adoption social worker. But everything is up to you. You’ll be able to choose who comes to the hospital with you, who is in the room with you during delivery, and how much time you’d like to spend with the baby before signing the final papers.

How much contact will I have with the adoptive family after I place my baby with them?

As part of your adoption plan, you'll determine whether or not you’d like to have an open or closed adoption or something in between. Open adoptions may include phone calls, messaging (via social media, email, or text), and/or periodic visits each year. Closed adoptions may include no contact at all or annual updates provided to the birth parent(s) by the adoptive family. Each post-adoption relationship is different and can vary based on what an expectant mother chooses in her adoption plan.

Profile ✅

10/20/2021

Finally! We've completed our family profile. It took a lot of hard work and edits but we're moving forward to putting together a new version of our video now. Since we've started working on our profile we've began blogging, opened an Instagram account to share our journey, and have been working on a lot of family projects. Each thing we've been working on has come with it's own challenges and rewards. Here's a look back on what the experience was like for us.  First, our profile book was completed, but it was too long and needed some editing. Thankfully, the people at Parentfinder were so helpful and efficient in working us through the process. The most difficult part, for us, was gathering all the necessary photos in a quality that would print well. The writing portion was easy because the editor at parentfinder helped to cut out some of our wordiness and make it more concise. Since we already had that portion completed, it was a breeze.  In between working on edits for the profile book, we wanted to make sure we were doing something to propel us forward in getting the word out that we were adopting. We decided...

Adoption Journey - GO!

10/20/2021

Hi Friend! Well, we're getting closer and closer to having our profile book completed. To back track a bit, we started our adoption journey in January of 2021. The path has been one full of many twist, turns, and a lot of new friends. We've had frustrations, and set backs, but through it all, we found the journey has been one we'd not trade for the world. We soon hope to be having all our hard work pay of by finding the perfect birth mom and baby to join our family.  Some of the surprises and frustrations we found, is that there is no one good place for birth moms to get support and help as she considers this important decision. Many of the agencies we spoke with had no compassionate or caring answers for us when we would ask questions regarding to the type of couseling a birth mom might get; the type of support system she would recieve afterwards; or the level of care she would get while she made her decision. We know that it could not be an easy decision for a birth mother to make and we want to make sure that in our journey towards...
